Warehouse Driver

Hill York seeks a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouse Driver to support our field operations by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment to job sites. This role plays a key part in maintaining the flow of operationsreceiving, organizing, and transporting inventory while keeping the warehouse clean, efficient, and compliant with safety standards. This role is responsible for receiving and unloading deliveries from outside vendors, organizing inventory, and loading/unloading company vehicles for scheduled deliveries. The Warehouse Driver ensures timely and accurate drop-offs at job sites and communicates with field supervisors as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Receives and unloads trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders.
  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Operates equipment in accordance with DOT and company rules. Adheres to all local, state and federal laws.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as the order the job material/equipment will be delivered.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocates orders to a holding area for future delivery.
  • Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Always wears proper safety equipment.
  • Delivers material/equipment to job sitecommunicates with project manager or field supervision once delivery is made to determine if needed to be re-routed or pick up is needed.
  • Ensures the warehouse is always accessible and safeclean and orderly.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assists with vehicle maintenance as needed.
  • Completes operational inspections of all vehicles and equipment for safety prior to operating.
  • Cleans, performs minor maintenance, and tests supporting construction tools.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to move, lift, load and reach inventory weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely drive up to 2-3 hours at a time.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to follow and execute multiple directives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Small equipment mechanic experience preferred.
  • CDL license a plus.
