The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care provides comprehensive nursing care, focusing on wound management for patients of all ages. This role requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe and quality patient care. The RN is expected to engage in continuing education and maintain proficiency in wound care practices to effectively contribute to patient outcomes.

The Wound Care RN is responsible for all assigned nursing care activities to include but not limited to wound care for patients of all ages and other clinical activities associated with providing safe patient care. The RN is responsible for following all WHC policies and procedures, care protocols and
Diversified Clinical Services Practice Guidelines, as directed by a Registered Nurse, or Physician. The RN will be responsible for assisting with patient and wound care data conferences, and continuing education is required as determined by the Program Director.
Reports to: Wound Care Director
FLSA: Non-exempt
Education: Associates Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.
License: Current RN to practice in the state of Kentucky or a current multistate licensure.
Certifications: BLS

Essential Functions
The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients served on his/her assigned unit as described in unit based competencies, policies and procedures.
In collaboration with other staff members, provides bedside patient care, implementing the interventions identified in the plan of care, as directed by physician.
Ensure appropriate patient care documentation.
Implement and assure compliance with wound center and hospital policies and procedures.
Maintain familiarity with regulatory standards.
Report quality of care issues to clinical manager or Program Director.
Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
Communicates with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions.
Non-Essential Functions
