Description American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and a minimum of 15–18 months of recent SLP experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment in Cherokee, GA.
Details Acute care SLP department within a hospital setting, supporting patients across a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses throughout the facility
Patient population includes ICU, stroke/neurological, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive cases
Patients are seen based on physician orders
8-hour day shifts, generally 8:00am–4:30pm with some schedule variation
5 shifts per week, 40 hours per week
Minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week period required; 4 weekends per 4-week period preferred
Requirements Current Georgia SLP license required if applicable
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
Current AHA BLS certification required (must not be expired)
Minimum of 15–18 months of recent, specialty-specific SLP experience required
Prior acute care SLP experience strongly preferred
MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) and FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) proficiency is a plus but not required
Valid driver's license required
Additional Information Provide assessment and treatment for patients with speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and respiratory-related communication disorders
Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position; locals within 50 miles are not eligible
Former permanent staff returning as travelers must have a minimum 2-year break before being considered
Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront prior to offer acceptance; RTO cannot be requested after an offer has been made
100% credentialing must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
