Part-Time Temporary General Laborer (2nd Shift)
Central Home Brands is seeking a part-time temporary general laborer (2nd shift) to support weekend manufacturing and warehouse operations. This role performs a wide range of manual labor, production support, and material-handling duties to ensure the facility remains efficient, organized, and safe throughout weekend shifts. This position is ideal for individuals looking for short-term, weekend-only industrial work in a fast-paced environment.
Job responsibilities include:
Perform production line support, including staging, packaging, and moving finished goods.
Support inventory activities such as counting, labeling, and organizing raw materials and finished goods.
Perform material-handling tasks such as loading, unloading, stacking, and palletizing items.
Operate basic warehouse equipment, including manual pallet jacks, carts, and handheld scanners.
Cross-train in multiple roles and rotate between workstations efficiently to meet production needs.
Perform all duties with strong attention to detail.
Communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
Work collaboratively with team members on the production line or in assigned work areas.
Assist with training new team members as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in production and warehouse areas, including sweeping, trash removal, and equipment wipe-downs.
Identify and immediately report any equipment issues, mechanical problems, unsafe conditions, or unsafe practices to the supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned by management or the weekend supervisor to support overall operations.
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or general labor preferred.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to working assigned weekend schedule: Saturdays & Sundays from 3:30pm to 12:00am.
Basic understanding of workplace safety and willingness to comply with all personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to learn and follow machine operation guidelines and safety procedures.
Ability to learn and understand SAP/Scanner functions.
Ability to follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality guidelines, and safety requirements.
Ability to perform basic math such as addition and subtraction.
Ability to learn and understand daily quality expectations and standards.
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle a heavy workflow.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, and carrying for extended periods.
Comfortable working around machinery, conveyors, and industrial equipment.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and meet productivity standards.
