Front Counter Person Print Shop

AlphaGraphics Portland is a locally owned and operated print shop that takes pride in delivering high-quality printing services to our clients. We offer a range of products, from business cards and flyers to large-format banners and custom print projects. Our team is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and ensuring every job is completed on time and to perfection.

We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and customer-oriented Front Counter Person to join our team! This is a customer-facing position where you'll be the first point of contact for clients walking in, calling or emailing for print services. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide information on our printing services and assist with product selection.
  • Process orders, including quoting, invoicing, and processing payments.
  • Handle customer inquiries and troubleshoot issues with print orders.
  • Using automated software tools, follow up on estimates
  • Coordinate with production staff to ensure jobs are completed on time and to customer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front counter area.
  • Answer phones and respond to email inquiries.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and with attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills for processing payments and creating quotes.
  • Comfortable using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
  • Experience in the printing industry is a plus but not required.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a team player mentality.
  • Ability to problem solve and be solutions oriented
  • Highly detailed with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of basic computer software
  • The ability to learn new software quickly
  • Professional customer service demeanor
  • Highly responsive to customer needs
  • Ability to create and maintain customer relationships
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules
  • 2-3 years facing customer service experience required
  • High School diploma or GED required, college education in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred
