Oncology:This dual role serves primarily as the Intake Registration Clerk for the department back up as a medical assistant. This position also includes functions of cashier, telephone operator, and health information clerk.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS :
High School diploma or GED equivalent. Experience of three years in a patient registration environment, Training and education obtained by completion of a medical assistant program that results in an approved medical assistant certificate. Knowledge of medical terminology Basic understanding of common diagnostic tests (e.g. CBC, CMP, U.A). Understanding of service authorizations (e.g. TARS, Medi-Care, Medi-Cal Managed Care, PPO, HMO) Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
