Registered Nurse RN Outpatient Prep and Recovery

HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) for our Outpatient Prep and Recovery area within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing outpatient procedures, ensuring safe, efficient, and comfortable experiences before and after surgery or diagnostic interventions. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you will complete comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, review medical histories, verify medications and allergies, and prepare patients and families with clear education about what to expect throughout the perioperative process. You will start IVs, administer ordered medications, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely care transitions. Following procedures, you will deliver attentive recovery care, closely observing patients for changes in condition, managing pain, nausea, and other post-procedure needs, and responding promptly to any signs of complications or emergencies. You will use critical thinking and evidence-based practice to develop and implement individualized care plans, document thoroughly in the electronic health record, and support safe discharge by educating patients and caregivers on post-procedure instructions and follow-up care.
