Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Associate works in a warehouse and production facility to safely move, load, and unload seed products, accurately pick and prepare orders, and maintain organized inventory. This role requires regular forklift operation, physical material handling, and precise documentation to ensure efficient and accurate shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
Transport bags of seed from storage areas to the designated shipping area in a safe and efficient manner.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations.
Use paper pick sheets to accurately select, stage, and prepare orders for shipment.
Operate a forklift to move pallets, seed bags, and other materials throughout the warehouse.
Palletize products by repeatedly lifting and stacking bags weighing 30–60 lbs as required.
Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move inventory and shipments.
Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking incoming and outgoing loads against bills of lading and other documentation.
Conduct order picking and packing while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Assist with inventory control activities, including counting, organizing, and tracking stock.
Use RF scanners and data entry systems to record inventory movements and shipment details.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse and production facility.
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors using strong verbal and written skills to coordinate daily tasks and resolve issues.
Essential Skills
Ability to repeatedly lift 30–50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
At least 6 months of previous physical labor or similar work experience.
Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience.
Minimum of 1 year of order picking and shipping experience.
Proficient forklift operation skills in a warehouse environment.
Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading trucks.
Basic inventory control skills, including counting and organizing stock.
Ability to work with paper pick sheets and follow written instructions accurately.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating tasks and documenting work.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a warehouse or production facility environment.
Prior Experience in shipping, order picking, loading, and lifting boxes.
Familiarity with bills of lading and shipping documentation.
Experience with RF scanners for tracking inventory and shipments.
Basic data entry skills for recording inventory and shipping information.
Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a warehouse with racking and bulk materials.
Willingness to work a seasonal schedule with the potential for continued employment based on performance.

Work Environment
This role is based inside a warehouse and production facility that is clean, organized, and equipped with racking and seed bags. The environment is non–temperature controlled, so it tends to be colder during the winter months and hotter during the summer, and it can become dusty at times. You will regularly use forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment while working around trucks and palletized goods. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a seasonal basis with potential to continue if performance meets expectations. Appropriate work attire should be suitable for a physical warehouse setting with varying temperatures and material handling activities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
